A Domain Decomposition-Finite Different Time Domain Method for Low Computation Cost in Solving Scattering from an Object above Rough Surface

2020
To improve the efficiency of the traditional FDTD method in calculation composite scattering, a novel domain decomposition (DD) scheme for FDTD method is proposed in this paper. The target and the rough surface are placed into target subdomain and rough surface subdomain, respectively. The coupling interactions between the two subdomain are calculated by applying the Huygens’ principle. The FDTD method is executed in each subdomain to obtain the near field of both target and rough surface. The numerical results are compared with that obtained by the FDTD method to validate the reliability and efficiency.
