Analysis of Relationship between the Response of Ammonia Gas Sensor and Odor Perception in Human

2020
This research presents an analysis of the relationship between response of ammonia gas sensor compare to the odor perception in humans for standardization of the odor measurement. This work focuses on the ammonia in different concentration levels to compare with the response of the gas sensor and the human odor perception in terms of annoyance and odor strength. The result of both response of ammonia sensor and human perception in terms of odor strength were increased accordingly to the concentration level of ammonia. The more % concentration of ammonia, the more sensor perceived odor strength like human perception. There was, however, an inconsistent relationship of the response of ammonia gas and the annoyance perception, which might be due to the emotions and complexity of individual human perception.
