Research on the Multi-time Scale Electromagnetic Transient Parallel Computation Algorithm

In this paper, a multi-time scale electromagnetic transient simulation algorithm based on transmission line model was proposed. Two subsystems separated by the transmission line adopted two different simulation step sizes. The results calculated from the small-step subsystem were transmitted to the large-step subsystem after employing the sampling theorem. And the results calculated from the large-step subsystem were transmitted to the small-step subsystem by means of the zero-order hold. Thus, the electromagnetic transient simulation with multiple time scales could be completed. By comparing and analyzing the results of synchronous parallel and asynchronous parallel simulation, the reliability of the proposed multi-time scale electromagnetic transient parallel simulation algorithm was verified. The algorithm proposed provides an effective solution to solve the problem of electromagnetic transient asynchronous parallel simulation.
