Lo que cuesta entrar en el reino de los cielos. La excavación arqueológica en el antiguo cementerio parroquial de Colmenar Viejo, Madrid

espanolLas iglesias parroquiales son el elemento focal y cultual mas significativo de la comunidad, y, por lo tanto, un estudio pormenorizado e interdisciplinar de estos monumentos es clave para el conocimiento de la historia y de la mentalidad de sus habitantes. Esta comunicacion tiene por objetivo presentar un avance de los resultados obtenidos en 2014 con motivo del seguimiento arqueologico de los trabajos mecanicos realizados para el acondicionamiento de la Plaza de Luis Gutierrez, Colmenar Viejo, en una de las areas del antiguo cementerio parroquial de la anterior iglesia parroquial de Santa Maria, construida a partir del siglo XIII, cuando se produjo la fundacion de la aldea. El escaso plazo dado a este proyecto, junto con la adversidad de las condiciones climatologicas, determino en gran medida el metodo de trabajo, por lo que se decidio realizar una actuacion minima y ajustada al area de seguimiento mecanico. Finalmente, la informacion arqueologica, apoyada por las fuentes documentales disponibles, nos ha aportado nuevos datos sobre las mentalidades y actitudes ante la muerte de sus moradores entre la Baja Edad Media y los primeros siglos de la Edad Moderna. Datos que se complementan con los obtenidos en otros registros de la localidad, dentro del proyecto de investigacion denominado: “Lo que cuesta entrar en el reino de los cielos”. EnglishThe parish churches are the most significant focal and cultual element of the community, and, that is why, a detailed and interdisciplinary study of these monuments is the key to the knowledge of the history and mindset of its inhabitants. Therefore, this communication aims to present a preview of the results obtained in 2014 on the archaeological monitoring of mechanical work for the refurbishment of the Plaza of Luis Gutierrez, in Colmenar Viejo, precisely in one of the areas of the former parish cemetery in the former parish church of Santa Maria, built since the 13th century onwards, when the Foundation of the village took place. The little time given to this project, along with the adversity of the weather conditions, largely determined the working method, which is why it was decided to carry out a minimum performance and adjusted to the mechanical tracking. Finally, archaeological information, supported by the available documentary sources, has provided us with new data on attitudes and different mindsets before the death of its inhabitants between the middle age and the first centuries of the modern age. Data that is complemented with other information obtained in records of the town, within the research project called: “What it takes to enter the Kingdom of Heaven”.
