Measurement of ride quality for elevators

This study has focused on the establishment of an acceptable standard for the measurement and the rating of ride quality for elevators. The test data used in this study was pre-conditioned by the analogue filtering, digitizing and frequency weighting of the accelerometer signals according to ISO/DIS 2631-1. The main portion of the study involved an analysis of the test data in search of an acceleration descriptor considered an acceptable standard measurement that correlates well with the subjective assessment of ride quality.
