Ostéosarcome des cavités nasales chez un chien west highland white terrier

EnglishA 5-year-old male West Highland White terrier was referred for breathing difficulties that have been evolving for 3 weeks and worsened in the last 48 hours, associated with sneezing and epistaxis that has been evolving for 1 month and a half. A CT scan and a rhinoscopic biopsy were performed. A stage 4 osteosarcoma of the nasal cavity classified T3N2M2 was found on histopathological analysis, the gold standard test to characterize the nature of a tumour. Palliative therapeutic management combining a specific COX-2 nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (firocoxib) and an anticancer chemotherapy alkylating agent (cyclophosphamide) was put in place. francaisUn chien mâle entier west highland white terrier de 5 ans est refere pour des difficultes respiratoires evoluant depuis 3 semaines et s’aggravant depuis 48 heures, associees a des eternuements et a une epistaxis evoluant depuis 1 mois et demi. Un examen tomodensitometrique et une biopsie par rhinoscopie sont realises. L’analyse histopathologique, examen gold standard en vue de caracteriser la nature d’une tumeur, conclut a un osteosarcome des cavites nasales de stade 4, classifie T3N2M2. Une prise en charge therapeutique palliative alliant un anti-inflammatoire non steroidien COX-2 specifique (firocoxib) et un agent alkylant de chimiotherapie anticancereuse (cyclophosphamide) est mise en place.
