Efficient Cluster Head Rotation Based on Residual Energy to extend Network lifetime

2020
In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), transferring enormous amount of data from source to destination remains as a difficult task, while transmitting data there may be large energy consumption, latency, which directly affects the network performance. Quality of Service in terms of Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) may reduce due to node failures, traffic, and reduced network lifetime. To overcome these challenges an Efficient Cluster Head Rotation Based on Residual Energy is proposed. This scheme forms a Cluster Head at initial routing stage and transmits the data to the base station. Cluster Head can be elected by considering the Stable Election Protocol (SEP) among nodes. After transmitting the data one of Cluster member acts as cluster head and transmits the data by using TDMA signal to the sink. By this cluster head rotation the isolation of WSN area can be reduced. This scheme also provides better Quality of Service (QoS) in terms of throughput and Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR).
