Effect of fiber orientation on tensile strength of thin composites

2021
Abstract In the current study, bi-directional Carbon Fiber Fabric has been used to fabricate the polymeric composite. The polymer composites were manufactured using the Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) process. The mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composite parts are highly influenced by fiber orientation. The aim of this paper is to study the effect of fiber orientation on tensile strength. The mode of failure were observed of the tested samples. Effect of fiber orientation can be seen on mode of failure of the laminates.
