Status of adoption to guava wilt management practices in Eastern Uttar Pradesh

The results of field survey on prevailing incidence and management practices for guava wilt other pests’ problems in eastern Uttar Pradesh indicated that wilt starts from third year of planting with 25 to 30% plant mortality in 5th or 6th year. Incidence of styler end rot, fruit flies, fruit rot and bark eating caterpillar were also recorded. The level of adoption of recommended plant protection practise were found to be poor at farmers’ field that need afresh package of practice of pests and diseases management in general and guava wilt in particular.
