RFLP Standardization Report for DP Beta/PvuII

1989
Eighteen standard bands were standardized with the DP beta/PvuII system as shown in Table 1. All bands present in Figure 1 are counted as standard bands since they were consistently demonstrated. Seven bands–no. 1 (10.64 kb), no. 2 (6.33 kb), no. 11 (3.80 kb), no. 15 (2.05 kb), no. 16 (1.75 kb), no. 17 (1.03 kb) and no. 18 (0.63 kb)–were nonpolymorphic. Four bands– no. 1 (10.64 kb), 2 (6.33 kb), no. 11 (3.80 kb), and no. 15 (2.05 kb)-showed no cross-hybridization with other beta probes and should be considered DP beta-specific. Cross-hybridizing bands are shown in Table 2 in the DR Beta/PvuII report. No clear correlations between any of these fragments with the DP specificities were observed. No previous reports have obtained RFLP polymorphism at the DP beta locus obtained with PvuII. The RFLP pattern of the DP beta PvuII system is illustrated in Figure 2.
