Electrophysiology and ablation of arrhythmias

Major advances in diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias have created the subspeciality of cardiac electrophysiology. This article reviews supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias and outlines the indications and process of electrophysiological testing, arrhythmia mechanisms and their treatment by catheter ablation.
