Compare of Speech Coding and Image Coding

In order to find common coding rules of ordinary algorithms,especially between speech coding and image coding,their coding methods in common use and development directions are analyzed on the basis of compare on speech and image signals. The same between the two is then pointed out,particularly the universal coding techniques. It has some use in the coding algorithm's design and the multimedia syncretic coding.
