Development of NEOs Monitoring Program in LNO: A Preliminary Set Up

Langkawi National Observatory (LNO) operating under National Space Agency of Malaysia (ANGKASA) is interested in NEOs observation, rang- ing from monitoring, researching from near-equator sky and for the purpose of public outreach as well. Pri- or to that matter, a comprehensive program is devel- oped in order to manage some potential risk or threat imposed by non-sidereal object like NEOs. It is unde- niably important to make it as public alert too. Assess- ment is currently made in progress to check LNO's observational readiness in term of the facilities and capabilities. This paper will update the current status of LNO's system and the framework plan on NEOs moni- toring program start up in LNO for 5 years, which is going to be a strategic collaboration between ANGKASA-NCU. This also comes with the hope that we can share some efforts and looking forward any potential collaboration with participating bodies in the future.
