A Patient with Multiple Allergies: What Anesthetic to Use?

1971
The usefulness of intracutaneous testing for allergy to local anesthetic drugs was demonstrated in an 8-year-old boy. He had a history of allergies and it was believed that he had had an allergic reaction to ether after undergoing a tonsillectomy. Results of tests showed positive reactions to some anesthetics and no reactions to others. The investigation of obscure unexpected complications during or after use of anesthetics is important.
