The Inefficacy of Dietary Nicotine for Growth Promotion

Abstract Graded levels of nicotine were added to the diets of broiler chicks to determine its effect on their rate of growth. The results of three trials, each consisting of 240 broiler chicks, demonstrated that nicotine had no consistent value in the stimulation of growth of broilers to eight weeks of age.
