A process for producing glass-ceramic articles with improved surface characteristics, device and use

2006
A process for the production of glass ceramic discs in which a green glass plate (5, 10) produced by hot forming, and the green glass plate (5, 10) is then ceramified by passing a cooling furnace to a glass-ceramic, wherein the green glass plate (5 , 10) before ceramization on at least one surface (11, 12) is fire polished, wherein the green sheet of glass is fire polished before insertion into a ceramizing (20) and prior to introduction into the cooling furnace or annealing furnace, characterized in that the green glass disc is fire polished during cooling after the hot shaping before reaching a temperature at which nucleation begins, wherein the surface to be polished (11, 12) of the green glass plate (10) is hotter than internal regions of the green glass plate (10) and the green glass plate (10) remains dimensionally stable.
