Auto-Haemotherapy for Warts in Cattle

Two cattle with presence of chronic cutaneous warts were presented to the clinic. Based on the morphology of lesions and history condition was diagnosed as warts. Auto haemotherapy was given to treat the warts. Fresh blood from the affected cattle was collected (@ 5 ml/100 kg body weight) and administered to the same animal. Half the dose was given as a deep intra muscularly and the other half as subcutaneously. Treatment was repeated at weekly intervals for 4 weeks until complete regression of the warts. The warts gradually regressed and sloughed. Present study reports the successful treatment of papillomas using auto-heamotherapy. Keywords: Auto-haemotherapy, buffaloes, blood, warts
