Consideration on rotational isomerism in connection with its influence on some electrical properties of an interface

The rotational isomerism contribution to some electric properties of an interface region has been considered. The mean electric dipole the mean equilibrium constant expressing the ratio of gauche and trans conformers, surface charge density σ, electric permittivity e, differential capacity C were calculated as a function of electric field for 1,2-dichloroethane, 1-chloro-2-bromoethane, and 1,2-dibromoethane.The results obtained suggest that in the case of adsorbed molecules exhibiting rotational isomerism, their structure and behaviour in the electrical double layer field have to be taken into account.
