Fatigue strength of ultrafine-grained pure Ti after severe plastic deformation

Abstract Fatigue life and notch sensitivity of the ultrafine-grained pure Ti produced by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was investigated. The ECAPed Ti showed a significant improvement in its high cycle fatigue limit (by a factor of 1.67) but its notch sensitivity was increased.
