Transmission and Switching Technologies for 5G Transport Networks
2018
5G is requiring higher capacity and performance to the optical transport network while demanding lower cost and energy consumption. This work illustrates new technologies such as novel modulation formats and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for cost effective transmission and switching of high speed (50 Gbit/s and beyond) signals in 5G fronthaul and backhaul networks.
