Electric motor for applications in clean room environment

2014
The present invention relates to an electric motor for applications in clean room environment. The electric motor comprises a housing, a fixedly connected to the housing and a stator relative to the housing rotatably mounted rotor. The rotor has a first end, a second end and an output shaft which protrudes out of the housing at least the rotor at the first end. Rotor and output shaft are sealed by a seal relative to the housing or to another fixed part of the electric motor. The invention is characterized in that the rotor is mounted at the first end with an oil-impregnated sintered bearing mounted in the housing, wherein the oil-impregnated sintered bearing adjacent the rotatable mounting of the rotor at the same time takes over the function of the seal.
