Fuel injection device with a needle control system with F, A, Z and E orifices
2012
A common-rail fuel injector includes a needle valve member moves to open the nozzle outlets for a fuel event and to close in response to a pressure in a needle control chamber. Between injection events, the needle control chamber is fluidly connected to the fuel inlet, through a first path having a Z orifice, and is fluidly connected with the fuel inlet through a second path of a F orifice, an intermediate chamber and an A having -Zumessoffnung. During an injection event, the needle control chamber is fluidly connected to a drain outlet through a third path comprising the A orifice, the intermediate chamber, an E orifice and a buffer chamber, what can help to avoid cavitation erosion in a sensitive area with a flat valve seat is associated. Different performance characteristics are achieved by setting the sizes of the respective F, A, Z and E orifices.
