Designing microwave devices with shielded elements

2000
Microwave devices formed of segments of single and coupled transmission lines with internal elements shielded from the case by a solid conductor are considered. A new approach to the analysis and synthesis of those devices is proposed. This approach is based on the technique employing the series connection of multiport devices, which is rarely used in microwave technology. Examples of the application of this technique and experimental results demonstrate that a number of design and processing constraints can be reduced when creating microwave devices.
