TENDÊNCIA EMPREENDEDORA DOS ESTUDANTES DO ENSINO SUPERIOR

EnglishIntroduction: Higher education must develop not only knowledge, but also the development of entrepreneurship. This way the labor market can take advantage of the entrepreneurial trend of students, as future professionals. Objectives: To evaluate the entrepreneurial trend of higher education students and to determine the socioeconomic and formative factors related to the entrepreneurial trend of higher education students. Method: Descriptive correlational study. Non-probability accidental sample of 227 students who attended an institution of higher education in the center of Portugal. It was requested authorization to the institution and the informed consent of the students. It was applied the general entrepreneurial trend test (Uriarte, 2000) and a questionnaire that allowed to collect the socioeconomic and formative data. Results: The respondents are predominantly female (58,1%). The ages vary between 18 and 52 years old, being the average of 22,75 years (SD = 5,03). Of the five dimensions that constitute the general entrepreneurial trend test, the most developed among students was the propensity to risk and the less developed was the need of autonomy/independence. The age, entrepreneur relatives and entrepreneurship training are not predictive of the entrepreneurial trend (p > 0,05). Conclusions: As other authors have referenced, the enterprising tendency of students is reduced. It will be need to expand and improve the training in entrepreneurship in higher education. portuguesIntroducao: O ensino superior deve ser fomentador, nao so de conhecimento, mas tambem do desenvolvimento do empreendedorismo. Assim, o mercado de trabalho pode tirar partido da tendencia empreendedora dos estudantes, enquanto futuros profissionais. Objectivos: Avaliar a tendencia empreendedora dos estudantes do ensino superior e determinar quais os factores socioeconomicos e formativos relacionados com a tendencia empreendedora dos estudantes do ensino superior. Metodo: Estudo descritivo correlacional. Amostra nao probabilistica acidental de 227 estudantes que frequentavam uma instituicao do ensino superior da zona centro de Portugal. Foi pedida autorizacao aquela instituicao e o consentimento informado dos estudantes. Foi aplicado o teste de tendencia empreendedora geral (Uriarte, 2000) e um questionario que permitiu colher dados socioeconomicos e formativos. Resultados: Os inquiridos sao predominantemente do sexo feminino (58,1%). As idades variam entre 18 e 52 anos, sendo a media de 22,75 anos (SD = 5,03). Das 5 dimensoes que constituem o teste de tendencia empreendedora geral, a mais desenvolvida nos estudantes foi a propensao a riscos e a menos desenvolvida foi a necessidade de autonomia/independencia. A idade, familiares empresarios e formacao sobre empreendedorismo nao sao preditivos da tendencia empreendedora (p > 0,05). Conclusoes: Como outros autores referenciaram, a tendencia empreendedora dos estudantes e reduzida. Havera necessidade de aumentar e melhorar a formacao em empreendedorismo no ensino superior.
