Heat Transfer in Porous Media: A Mini Review

Abstract Porous media is an important topic of research for many decades due to its applicability. This article discusses a review of findings related to heat transfer in porous media in recent time. The review is focused on heat transfer in porous media having placed in various geometrical shapes such as, vertical plate, cavity, cylindrical shapes etc. Different phenomenon encompassing the heat transfer such as natural convection, mixed convection, thermal equilibrium, thermal non-equilibrium are given due consideration for the review purpose. It is found that despite of research in porous media for over a century, there are many new findings which are still enhancing the basic understanding of the subject.
