Coastal tidal wetlands of Mexico: potential carbon sequestration of mangroves and public policies
2017
T idal wetlands, specially mangroves, are very important carbon stocks, mainly underground. Because of this, it is necessary to incorporate them as a critical element in mitigation and adaptations policies to climate change. This paper presents a brief analysis of the estimates of carbon stocks and fluxes in Mexico mangroves, as a first step to propose restoration policies that may have associated financial incentives.
