In 23 experiments, carried out on the whole hearts of 10 frogs, immobilized by destruction of the spinal cord and cerebrum, and which were placed in the electromagnetic field (20 000 V, 1-24 Hz), the luminescence of the pacemaker zone during its self-excitation, registered by a television camera (1000 pictures per 1 sec) and also the edge luminescence were observed. At vagal cardiac arrest the edge luminescence was kept, but the luminescence of the pacemaker zone disappeared. At recovering of the heart activity the luminescence of the pacemaker zone was restored. The experiments were carried out at simultaneous control by computer mapping.
