Researches regarding the evolution of the surfaces covered with afforestations works at the Region 5-west during 1990-2008.

Surfaces covered with afforestation works at the national regional level considerably decreased in the period after the communism. In the Region 5West these abatements were more pronounced as in 2001, areas covered with works of afforestation, reduced to 4.5 times comparing with the first year after the revolution (1990). This reduction has adverse ecological and economical implications at the national and at the regional level.
