UCSF/LLNL high resolution digital mammogram library
1995
Several institutions have developed algorithms for detection of microcalcifications as indicators of possible malignancy in digital mammograms. Relative sensitivity and specificity of these different algorithms has been difficult to evaluate because they have been tested on a variety of mammograms of varying pixel resolution and pathology. We present a library of mammograms digitized at 35 micrometers for evaluating the relative performance of calcification detection programs. The goal is to have authors of various algorithms present their results at the IEEE/EMB conference next year.
