Progress is related in several areas related to heat exchanger networks. Theoretical and experimental work with thermally coupled distillation columns and in chemical reactor operation is discussed. The foundations of a comprehensive, user-friendly interactive dynamic system analysis and control system design package have been established. (LEW)
