A second wireless communication device (4-1) is provided with a communication unit (6-1) and a control unit (5-1). The communication unit (6-1) is capable of communicating wirelessly with another second wireless communication device (4-2) via a first communication path (7), and is capable of communicating wirelessly with a first wireless communication device (1) via a second communication path (8-1). In cases when the second wireless communication device (4-1) is in an idle mode, and is communicating with the other second wireless communication device (4-2) via the first communication path (7), and the quality of the first communication path (7) becomes worse than a prescribed quality, or a switching instruction is received from the other second wireless communication device (4-2), the control unit (5-1) controls the communication unit (6-1) to establish the second communication path (8-1) with the first wireless communication device (1). Furthermore, the control unit (5-1) switches the communication with the other second wireless communication device (4-2) via the first communication path (7), to the communication via the second communication path (8-1).
