Capacidad celulolítica de los hongos del azulado de la madera

1995
The aim of this work has been a study of the cellulolytic activity of four species of wood blue-stain fungi Aureobasidium pullulans (de Bary) Arnaud, Sclerophoma pityophila (Corda) Hohnel, Ceratocystis huntii Robinson y Ceratocystis ips (Rumbold) C. Moreau. This study has been realized through the determination of the amount of biomass produced by these fungi, and the quantification of neutral and reducing sugars remaining in the culture media, using cellulose, carboxymethylcellulose and cellobiose as substrates. The obtained results shown that these fungi are not able to produce a total hydrolysis of the cellulose, but they have β-1,4-endoglucanase (carboximethylcellulase), and β-glucosidase (cellobiase) activities of the cellulase complex, which can be implicate in the active penetration of the blue-stain fungi in the wood cells.
