Objective: To explore a new type of prevention and treatment of COVID-19 with traditional Chinese medicine based on “Yidujiashi” theory, and provide a clinical theoretical basis Methods: By analyzing the regional climate characteristics in Wuhan, combined with the pathogenic patterns of cases in Wuhan Red Cross Hospital, referring to the relevant literature of “epidemic disease”, we summarized the idea of prevention and treatment of COVID-19 with traditional Chinese medicine Results: In traditional Chinese medicine, this disease was classified as “epidemic disease” in traditional Chinese medicine, the pathogenesis of the disease is “Yiduxifei”, “Feishixuanjiang” and “Xierejiashi, Haoshangqiyin” The disease mainly affected lung, as well as the spleen and stomach In different clinical stages, different remedies were applied which focused on “Xuanjiangfeiqi” and “Yangyinyiqi”, took into account the treatment of spleen and stomach In preventive stage, “Yangzhengbixie” was often applied Conclusion: The theory of “Yidujiashi” provides a new idea for the treatment of COVID-19 with Traditional Chinese medicine, it can effectively guide the choice of prescription for clinical treatment However, further exploration should be done on new methods and ideas because of the limitations of cases and regions
