Interline Wind Power Plant and SVC in Electrical Power System

2020
The interline wind power plant (WPP) and (Static Var Compensator) SVC topology can assist in supplying electric power to 2 power system feeders. However, the topology needs to be tested for stability when disturbance occurs. The disturbance used in this paper is line to ground fault. When a disturbance occurs, it causes a voltage drop on the bus. The method uses several scenarios. The first scenario uses 2 feeders without WPP and SVC interline. The second scenario uses the WPP power system interline topology. The third scenario uses WPP and SVC interline. The parameters observed were changes in voltage, active power, and reactive power in each scenario. Then the results of each scenario are compared. In scenario 1 after the disturbance occurs, the voltage cannot reach normal condition. In scenario 2 after a disturbance occurs, the voltage is also unable to reach normal condition. The steady state voltage of scenario 2 is higher than in scenario 1. In scenario 3 after a disturbance occurs, the voltage is able to return to normal condition It is within the safe range of operating voltage. Interline WPP and SVC can contribute active power and reactive power that is balanced for each feeder.
