Differential distribution of left and right ostracode valves in the Adriatic Sea

Abstract There are rather significant differences in the total numbers of left valves and right valves of eleven ostracode species selected from the bottom sediments of the Adriatic Sea. Several species show a characteristic distribution in zones with more left valves and zones with more right valves. A relationship with selective transport by currents could not be directly established.
