The invention relates to a microscope with a plurality of optical systems in the imaging beam path and at least one module, the optical effect is changed with respect to the imaging beam path by driving, for example, a slidable in the direction of the optical axis lens group (ZS1, ZS2, ZS3, ZS4), or diaphragm, a diaphragm with a variable aperture, a digital zoom device, a shutter or a focusing device. The microscope according to the invention is characterized by a control unit which is designed to generate control signals for the assembly - only the imaging in a first operating mode for regulating or controlling the functional parameters optical system, which is associated with the assembly, and - in a second operating mode in addition to the regulation or control of the operating parameters of the overall optical system of the microscope.
