In vitro proliferation of lymphocytes derived from pigs vaccinated against classical swine fever

2020
The immunomodulating activity of different substances and their influence on the lymphoproliferative response has been tested in vitro. Mitogens, e.g. concanavalin (Con A), phytohemagglutinin (PHA) and pokeweed mitogen (PWM) have been previously used as stimulators of the proliferative response in vitro. However, there is a limited amount of information considering the porcine lymphocyte response to mitogens after vaccination against classical swine fever. The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro influence of Con A, PHA, PWM and the attenuated ORF virus strain D1701 on the lymphoproliferative response after vaccination against classical swine fever (CSF) with subunit E2 vaccine and after intramuscular administration of an attenuated ORF virus strain D1701.
