Gradient Wind Field Characteristics of Winter Monsoon in Boundary Layer for Coastal Transmission Towers

2019
Wind field characteristics are the theoretical basis for wind load calculation and wind vibration control of transmission towers. The wind characteristics of the winter monsoon are analyzed on the basis of 1s wind speed samples. The wind speed is measured simultaneously by nine vane anemometers at different heights on a coastal transmission tower. The mean wind profile, turbulence intensity profile, power spectrum, probability distribution function, and their variations with wind speed are obtained. The mean wind profile and turbulence profile are described in logarithmic and exponential rates, with exponents between 0 and 0.22. The power spectrum of the winter monsoon can be expressed by Karman-type spectrum, Kaimal-type spectrum and simiu-type spectrum. The probability density function of fluctuating wind speed of the winter monsoon follows Weibull distribution, Gaussian distribution, Gamma distribution, Rayleigh distribution. The results will provide basic data for wind vibration control of coastal transmission tower.
