The enthalpy of oxidation of molybdenum(III) and molybdenum(V) binuclear complexes in aqueous solutions

Schemes of sequential transformations and the enthalpies of exchange and redox reactions with the participation of several molybdenum(III) and molybdenum(V) mono- and binuclear complexes with acido ligands were determinedon the basis of mutually consistent data on the heat effects of multistep redox reactions in aqueous solutions (obtained by calorimetric titration with continuous titrant introduction) and the electronic absorption spectra of these solutions. The energy stabilization of the binuclear molybdenum(III) complexes caused by the formation of metal-metal bonds was determined experimentally.
