Femoral neck fractures treatment with straight stem endoprosthesis

Between January 1991 and December 1993, 50 hip hemiarthroplasties were done using moduler head and straight stem endoprosthesis for femoral neck fractures in SSK Goztepe Hospital; Of these, 23 were male and 26 were female. The average age of the patients were 64.5 (38-92). A Mean follow up was 18 (2-34) months. The patients were evaluated by Harrisi functional scoring system. 38 (%86) cases are found satisfactory. It's concluded that straight stem prostheses were succussfuly applied for femoral fractures in the elderly patients.
