Direct lifetime measurement of the 6.05 MeV 0+ level in 16O

Abstract The reaction 19 F(p, α) 16 O ∗ was used to populate levels in 16 O. Delayed coincidence measurements of α-π and α-γ gave a value of 96±7 ps for the mean life of the 6.05 MeV 0 + level in 16 O.
