Investigation of Bioabsorbable Screw Usage for Longbone Fracture Repair in the Horse: Biomechanical Features

This study examined the comparative axial tensile strength and holding power of bioabsorbable and stainless steel 4.5 mm cortical screws using both horse cadaver bones and a synthetic bone material. It was found that significant differences exist between the two screw types.
