In recent years, there has been a series of great changes in the hospitality sector.
This is in order to guarantee sustainability among the competitive market. In front
of this situation we seek to improve the offered services and the staff which
provide these services. Therefore, not only is important the infrastructure but also
the qualifications required to deliver an excellent service.
The qualification management is relevant in hospitality areas and the present
research is focused in the study of the competence of the operational staff and
efficient endeavour in the hospitality areas of the district of Ambato.
The framework of this research comprehends a structure that begins from the
critical analysis of the problem in this sector to get a general vision of the study
itself. Accordingly, more specific aspects that allow us to understand and alternate
solutions for the stablished issues are reached. The main objectives are aimed to
indicate the quality levels of the operational staff and which evaluation methods
are currently utilized in this sector. For reference, information from previous
studies was analysed, and the concepts that reflect importance of the two studied
variables are discussed. The methods of this investigation combined the
qualitative focus of social phenomena which involves description of certain skills
and the quantitative focus for statistical procedures demonstrating veridical
results. To conclude, the feasibility of this study is viable given that information
was obtained from official and approved sources. The significance of this research
lies in facing the problems associated directly to qualifications and performance;
through an implementation of a purpose to afford industrial demand in the
hospitality area.
