Frequency Stability and Control Measures of Hainan Power Grid after Interconnection with China Southern Power Grid

2009
The problem of "small power network system containing large capacity generators" will be basically solved in Hainan Power Grid after the interconnection of Hainan Power Grid with China South Power Grid(CSG).But Hainan Power Grid may be facing a new problem of frequency stability. The effects of faults on the tie line on Hainan Power Grid are analyzed, and the measures are proposed on the low frequency load shedding, high frequency generator tripping, stability control and power control of tie lines, the loading schemes of large capacity generators. It is suggested that the power on tie line should be regulated, fast dispaching measures should be taken under faults, large capacity generator output should be limited under islanding situation;it is also suggested that two safety and stability devices should be installed on the tie line, the low frequency load shedding schemes should be regulated but the high frequency generator tripping schemes may be remained unchanged.
