Structure Functions for the Exclusive π+ n and π0 p Channels of Electroproduction from Data Measured with the CLAS Detector

2021
A procedure is described for finding nonpolarized transverse, longitudinal, and polarized longitudinal-transverse and longitudinal-transverse structure functions derived from data on the differential cross sections of exclusive channels of π+n and π0p electroproduction measured with the CLAS detector. The measured cross sections cover the wide kinematic range of W < 1.7 GeV in terms of invariant mass of a finite hadronic system and photon virtuality in the range of Q2 < 5.0 GeV2. The exclusive structure functions obtained from a single pion production channel play an important role in studying the structure of excited nucleon states.
