A statuette from the workshop of Leonardo da Vinci

2012
The article discusses a late fifteenth-century statuette titled "Cowering warrior," which the authors argue is a work of sculpture from the workshop of the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. It is suggested that the statuette offers unique evidence of the use of sculptural models to work out designs in Leonardo's studio. In addition, the authors conclude that the statuette is a probable testament of Leonardo's involvement with sculpture.
