The article analyses different approaches to translating financial and economic texts. Strategic princi ples contributing to the competency in the field are revealed. The emphasis is laid upon the search for equivalents related to grammatical and lexical specific features of the contacting languages. Particular context examples illustrate how to choose an appropriate construction. The article gives a number of practical recommendations regarding the use of translation techniques.
