Iodine-Doped ZnO Nanocrystalline Aggregates for Improved Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

A new hierarchically structured photovoltaic material, i.e., I-doped ZnO nanocrystalline aggregates (ZnO:I) was successfully prepared by the solvothermal method. The as-prepared ZnO:I as photoanodes of DSSCs exhibits a high overall photoconversion efficiency of 4.5% due to the effective capture and collection of sunlight together with reduced electron−hole recombination.
