Analysis of an array of diffraction-coupled injection lasers
1990
A theory of coupled modes is used to describe supermodes and their threshold gain in an array of diffraction-coupled injection lasers. A theoretical derivation is made of the conditions ensuring a rectangular envelope of the radiation intensity on a resonator mirror when an in-phase supermode is generated. Numerical modeling is used to find the optimal geometric dimensions of the investigated structure, the radiation intensity and the phase distribution in the near-field zone, and the angular distribution for an in-phase supermode.
