Tectónica sinsedimentaria en el Plioceno de Malalyine (NE de Tetuán, Rif, Marruecos) Sinsedimentary tectonics in the Pliocene of Malalyine (NE of Tetouan, Rif, Morocco)

2011
In the Malalyine area, a new outcrop of Pliocene sediments is affected by several sets of joints compatible with a NW-SE compression and, partic- ularly, with a perpendicular, N50oE tension. They are mineralized with Fe and Mn oxides, indicating the flow of deep fluids, characteristic of a hydrother- malism of low temperature. Moreover, many joints are filled by injected sands, which are interpreted as seismites. These joints represent a sinsedi- mentary tectonic stage, congruent with the late Miocene to the Present re- gional geodynamic setting.
